Who is eligible for the supplementary phase?
The supplementary phase is open to all candidates, regardless of their situation:
-
Those who did not receive any admission offers after the main phase;
-
Those who are still on a waiting list or received only negative responses;
-
Candidates who registered on Parcoursup but did not confirm their choices before April 2;
-
Individuals who have never registered on Parcoursup: they can still do so until September 9, 2025;
-
Candidates who have already accepted an offer during the main phase, but wish to apply to other higher education institutions.
Important: International applicants must already hold a valid visa as of June 11, 2025, in order to apply — unless they are currently preparing for or have earned a French baccalauréat from a school in the AEFE network (French schools abroad).
How does the supplementary phase work?
Starting June 11, you can access the “Supplementary phase choices” tab on the Parcoursup platform. There, you’ll find an interactive map of available programs. This search engine is updated daily, showing only programs that still have available seats based on your profile (type of diploma, academic region, etc.).
You can submit up to 10 new choices, even if you are still on a waiting list from the main phase. However, you cannot reapply to the exact same program at the same institution as in the main phase. That said, you can apply to an identical program in a different institution.
Special cases where reapplying is allowed
There are exceptions to the above rule:
-
If you previously applied to a general bachelor’s degree portal, you can now request another program within the same portal that you hadn’t chosen during the main phase, provided seats are available.
-
You may apply to another school within a group of institutions (e.g., engineering or business schools) that you had not previously selected.
-
If you had applied to a CPGE with boarding, you may apply to the same CPGE without boarding, if it’s available.
-
If a high school offers multiple ECG tracks, you may apply to a different track than the one you initially selected.
Deadlines : candidate response
Candidates must reply to each admission offer received on Parcoursup before the deadline shown in their application file. The response times are as follows:
Important: To allow high school students to focus on their final exams, response deadlines will be suspended:
How to maximize your chances of admission?
-
Check the interactive map regularly to see if new spots have opened up due to withdrawals.
-
You can also attend orientation fairs to meet institutions that may offer you a place.
-
Don’t forget to carefully write your “motivational student project” — still required for some programs, even in the supplementary phase.
-
If you receive multiple offers, you must choose only one. Accepting an offer during the supplementary phase will automatically cancel any offer you had previously accepted during the main phase.
