Key Points to Remember:

  • The famous “€3,000 ADIE grant” no longer exists as a direct subsidy. It has been replaced by a zero-interest loan.
  • ADIE microcredit can reach €15,000, supplemented by a €3,000 zero-interest loan.
  • ACRE has evolved in 2026: applications are mandatory within 60 days and the exemption rate is reduced to 25% after July 1, 2026.
  • ARCE allows you to receive 60% of your ARE entitlements as capital, in two payments.
  • Zero-interest honor loans, regional support and microcredits complete the available funding.

Support #1 – ADIE Zero-Interest Loan and Microcredit

⚠️ Warning The €3,000 ADIE grant as a direct subsidy no longer exists. It has been replaced by a zero-interest loan necessarily coupled with a microcredit. Don’t confuse grant and loan anymore!

ADIE (Association for the Right to Economic Initiative) is the reference organization for financing entrepreneurs without access to traditional bank credit. It supports all entrepreneur profiles, regardless of their status or business sector.

The €3,000 Zero-Interest Loan:

In addition to a microcredit, ADIE offers a zero-interest loan up to €3,000, with possible deferred repayment up to 36 months. This amount strengthens your contribution, reassures ADIE to grant you the main microcredit and allows you to start your activity without mobilizing all your savings.

ADIE Microcredit: The Main Funding

Microcredit is the real financial boost for your project. ADIE can lend you up to €15,000, repayable over a period of 6 to 48 months depending on your capabilities.

Some important points to know before you get started:

  • The interest rate is fixed starting at 8% per year (as of January 12, 2026).
  • A solidarity contribution of 6% of the borrowed amount is added to the repayment. It serves to finance the association’s operations.
  • You must find a trusted person in your circle (family, friend, neighbor…) who agrees to act as guarantor for 50% of the borrowed amount. This means that if you don’t repay, this person will have to take on half of the debt!

Who Can Benefit from ADIE Support?

This funding targets job seekers, recipients of RSA or AAH, young people under 30 in precarious situations and anyone excluded from bank credit with a viable project to create or take over a business.

Steps

  1. Make an appointment on adie.org or at a nearby ADIE agency.
  2. An advisor evaluates your project’s viability and your eligibility.
  3. Put together the file: financial forecast, ID, bank statements from the last 3 months.
  4. Once accepted, the amount is released within 48 hours. ADIE then provides personalized post-financing support.

💡 Tip: Contact ADIE even if you doubt your eligibility, including in case of banking ban. Their mission is to study each situation individually.

Support #2 – Specific Programs for Young Entrepreneurs

In France, there are many support programs for young entrepreneurs. Several schemes reduce financial barriers to business creation:

  • 1jeune1solution:

the government platform offers a section dedicated to entrepreneurship with resources and referrals to competent support organizations. It’s an excellent starting point to map out support according to your situation. (1jeune1solution.gouv.fr)

  • Local Missions:

they support young people aged 16 to 25 in their professional integration and can direct them toward local support, mentoring programs and targeted funding.

  • Entrepreneurial competitions and prizes:

many organizations and consular chambers offer financial grants without repayment, representing a valuable contribution to start an activity.

  • University incubators:

for innovative projects, these structures offer networks, mentors and sometimes startup funding. A path often underestimated by young entrepreneurs.

💡 Tip: Even as a student, don’t wait until the end of your studies to explore these options. Many support programs can be combined with student status.

Support #3 – ACRE: Social Contribution Exemption

ACRE (Support for Business Creators and Buyers) directly reduces your social charges at startup, leaving you more margin to invest in your activity.

What Changed in 2026:

Since January 1, 2026, ACRE is no longer automatic: you must apply to Urssaf within 60 days. From July 1, 2026, the exemption rate drops from 50% to 25% of social contributions. Businesses created before this date retain the old rate during their first 4 quarters.

The exemption becomes progressive for income between 75% and 100% of the annual Social Security ceiling (between €36,045 and €48,060), and null beyond.

Who Is Eligible?

Compensated job seeker, recipient of RSA, ASS or ATA, young person aged 18 to 25 (or under 30 if uncompensated or recognized as disabled), or creator of a business in a priority neighborhood (QPV).

⚠️ Remember: Without an explicit request to Urssaf, ACRE is no longer granted, even if you meet all the conditions. Visit urssaf.fr to submit your application.

Support #4 – ARCE and ARE Maintenance

If you are a job seeker and create your business, France Travail offers two complementary schemes to secure your income during launch.

ARE Maintenance

The ARE allowance can be combined with your micro-business income. France Travail deducts part of your allowance according to your declared income. This scheme offers valuable financial security if your activity gradually ramps up.

ARCE

ARCE allows you to receive 60% of your remaining ARE entitlements as capital, paid in two installments: the first half when starting your activity, the second 6 months later (provided your activity is still ongoing). This capital facilitates your initial investments, equipment, communication, working capital, but ends the monthly allowance. Moreover, you can simulate your ARCE entitlements on France Travail.

How to Choose?

If your activity takes time to generate income, ARE maintenance offers more security. If you need immediate capital to invest in your project, ARCE is often more advantageous.

⚠️ Remember: To benefit from ARCE, you must have previously obtained ACRE. These two support programs are complementary and can be combined.

Support #5 – Honor Loans

Honor loans are zero-interest personal loans granted to the entrepreneur themselves, without guarantee or security. They strengthen your personal contribution and reassure banks: for every €1 of honor loan granted, banks grant on average €9.50 in additional financing (Initiative France) or up to €13 (Réseau Entreprendre).

  • Initiative France: the most accessible network for micro-entrepreneurs. The honor loan amount ranges from €3,000 to €50,000 (average amount: €10,000). Each application is examined by a committee of volunteer experts, with included sponsorship support.
  • Réseau Entreprendre: intended for high-growth potential projects. The honor loan amount ranges from €15,000 to €90,000 (average amount: €29,000), with support from an experienced entrepreneur.

These honor loans are repayable over 3 to 5 years, with possible deferred repayment. A solid application and presentation before an approval committee are necessary to benefit.

Support #6 – Regional and Local Support

Regions, Departments and Municipalities offer subsidies, reduced-rate loans or loan guarantees targeted at specific sectors (innovation, crafts, local commerce) or particular profiles (young people, women, people in career transition).

To discover them, contact your CCI (Chamber of Commerce and Industry), your CMA (Chamber of Trades and Crafts) or your Regional Council. BPI France also lists numerous regional support programs on bpifrance.fr.

Other organizations complement this system: AGEFIPH supports entrepreneurs with disabilities with dedicated financial assistance, while AGEFIPH also offers specific support solutions for workplace adaptation. For social and solidarity economy projects, France Active and AGEFIPH constitute essential resources.

How to Find Support Suited to Your Project?

  1. Assess your needs: what amount do you need? Identify your current status (job seeker, student, recipient of minimum income), as it determines your eligibility for most support programs.
  2. Identify relevant schemes: use official simulators from Urssaf (ACRE), France Travail (ARCE/ARE) and ADIE. Consult BPI France, CCIs, CMAs and local government websites for regional support.
  3. Prepare a solid file: a concise business plan is essential, even for a micro-business. Gather your supporting documents: ID, bank statements, proof of status.
  4. Submit and follow up on your applications: be proactive and transparent. Rigor and perseverance are entrepreneurial qualities that are appreciated from the application stage.

💡 Pro tip: Support is as important as funding. A good support network can make all the difference in your business’s sustainability.
